According to the industry statistics of China Construction Machinery Industry Association, 223833 sets of drilling machinery products were sold by 26 main engine manufacturers from January to June 2021, up 31.3% year on year; From the perspective of market structure, excavators occupy an absolute mainstream position in the construction machinery market; In addition, in December 2022, the four national emission standards will implement construction machinery and accelerate the transformation of construction machinery.
At present, lasers are rapidly penetrating into more downstream areas. With China’s new infrastructure investment of nearly 34 trillion yuan, construction machinery and other industries face huge development space. The “cutting-edge” characteristics embodied in laser processing technology just meet the needs of the construction machinery manufacturing industry, which is conducive to the realization of intelligent manufacturing in China. Based on this, laser processing technology, as a new and efficient tool, has become an important tool to promote the transformation and upgrading of the construction machinery industry.
For example, the material welding process under laser cutting emphasizes the key position in the production of construction machinery products, which account for more than 60% of the workload of structural parts. After laser cutting, the cutting edge is smooth and free of oxide. Usually, it can be directly assembled without reprocessing, which greatly improves production efficiency and reduces labor costs. Large construction machinery manufacturing enterprises such as XCMG, Sany Heavy Industry, Zoomlion, Shanzhong Group, Lingong and Liugong have introduced laser cutting processing systems into their production processes.
The main applications of laser processing in the field of construction machinery include:
(1) The exposed surface of 3–40mm carbon steel plate shall be cut into high perpendicularity. The roughness of the cutting section is 6.3–12.5um, and the perpendicularity is 0.05–0.15mm. Mechanical parts are generated once without precision machining, hole and groove milling, grinding, etc., and the production efficiency is far higher than traditional plasma cutting and flame cutting.
(2) When laser cutting and welding are required, most of them need groove
Pretreatment and plane groove cutting devices can meet these requirements. Laser can finish straight cutting and groove cutting at one time, and can realize full slope, residual root slope, V slope, K slope and gradual slope. It can cut grooves of different shapes in 9 different applications, such as groove, to meet the pretreatment of many parts that need welding in construction machinery.

(3) Large groove laser pipe cutting device. In many hollow mechanical equipment, various round tubes and corner tubes with a diameter greater than 200 mm need to be machined. The laser pipe cutting device effectively solves this problem.
